Georgian Mahogany Tea Caddy c.1820

Beautiful late Georgian mahogany tea caddy c.1820. Of elegant rounded sarcophagus form in highly figured flame mahogany veneers with ebony stringing and an ebony and boxwood inlaid and rosewood crossbanded bottom edge. Retaining the original brass handles to the lid and sides, inlaid brass escutcheon and lovely little paw feet with scrolling leaf detail. Opens to reveal the original interior with two air tight containers for tea with hinged tops and, very unusually, the original cut glass mixing bowl. Missing a few pieces of ebony stringing, otherwise very good condition.
