Folding Triple Plate Cheval Dressing Mirror with Maple Frame c.1870.
Exceptional mid 19th.c. French full length cheval or dressing mirror c.1870. 56″ x 24″ arch top mirror within a brass bezel and bird’s eye maple veneered frame. Very unusually the mirror folds open to reveal three more mirrors inside, all of identical size. Adjusting the angles of the side mirrors allows a complete view of your outfit as you stand at the centre. On a tall moulded plinth base, also in bird’s eye maple, with lovely scroll carved feet. Oak groundwork and original castors below the base. A little minor tarnish, most obvious on the internal centre plate (could be replaced if preferred). Superb quality, note the full length hinges to each mirror, and excellent original condition. Simply cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
