Edwardian Mahogany Writing Desk c.1905
Very smart Edwardian mahogany writing desk c.1905. With two banks of small drawers flanking a stationery rack with a hinged lid topped with a brass gallery. Over the serpentine fronted desk top (height 30") with original tooled leather. Seven drawers below arranged around the central kneehole. Bow fronted drawers (the middle drawer being concave) with crisply carved Chinese Chippendale style blind fretwork and retaining the original brass handles. On tapering square legs, moulded at the front with fluted detail above, raised on the original brass castors. Superior quality with solid mahogany sides, rear and drawer linings. Typical old wear to the leather, otherwise excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied to work all seven lower drawers.
