Carved Walnut Throne Chair c.1870

Tall 19th.c carved walnut throne style box seat or hall chair c.1870. Standing 79" tall. The backrest densely carved with 17th.c. style decoration including heads in profile and stylised plant forms. Topped with a triangular pediment with a tall carved finial and flanked with turned finials to each side. Over shaped arms, also carved, on turned supports and a board seat which lifts to reveal useful storage below. Carved base panels to the front and sides. very good colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
