Bow Front Mahogany Sideboard c.1820
Small Regency bow front mahogany sideboard c.1820. Useful small size, just 59" wide. Well figured top with crossbanded and boxwood inlaid edge. Over a slim centre drawer flanked with larger drawers on each side. Note also the unusual little cupboard compartment to the right hand end of the sideboard with the interior of the right hand drawer shaped to accommodate it. Matched flame mahogany veneers to the larger drawer fronts, the centre drawer with an oval burr walnut panel and inlaid ebony and boxwood stringing. Large period brass knobs. The inlay continues on the uprights either side of the drawers, on the edge of the arched apron and along the bottom edge of the large drawers, also running along the ends of the sideboard. Raised on particularly attractive tapering turned and reeded legs. Some old wear and repairs, generally very good colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
