Arts & Crafts Sideboard by Liberty & Co. c.1895
Superb Art & Crafts sideboard in oak by the celebrated makers and retailers Liberty & Co. of London c.1895. A lower back variation of the design known as The New Whitlock sideboard and attributed to the company’s great head of design Leonard Wyburd. Tapering sides and a dramatically overhanging top, original copper handles and long strap hinges with pointed spade shaped ends, all typical distinctive elements of Wyburd’s designs for Liberty.
