Arts & Crafts Oak Hall Stand c.1900
Small Arts & Crafts hall stand, in the manner of Liberty & Co. c.1900. Useful narrow dimensions, just 30½" wide at the cornice. Six Art Nouveau style hooks for hats and coats, arranged on a solid oak frame around a central mirror and shelf over small glove box with a lift-up lid. Flanked on each side with stick or umbrella stands with removable drip trays in the base. Of tapering form, with a wide overhanging cornice over a moulded arch within which is an inlaid marquetry work scene featuring three boats under sail. Note also the heart-shaped cutaway to the central splat below the mirror. Excellent original colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
