Liberty & Co. Pearl Inlaid Occasional Table c.1910
Superb Moorish style 'Turkish Table' as retailed by Liberty & Co. of London in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Octagonal top with striking Islamic style geometric decoration within a raised border. Fine inlaid detail in various woods, abalone and mother of pearl with contrasting black stained ground. The inlays continue on the sides over Mogul arch cutaways to form the feet. Excellent condition, with some repairs to the top, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
A similar table is illustrated in Liberty's Furniture 1875-1915 The Birth of Modern Interior Design by Daryl Bennet.
