Large Qum Persian Carpet c.1960

Very impressive vintage Iranian Persian carpet c.1960. Measuring 11 feet long by over 7 feet wide. Hand knotted wool pile with a dense garden pattern symmetrically arranged around a central medallion within a broad border with multiple bands of decoration. Nice original importer's label on the rear identifying the origin as Ghoum (or Qum) in central Iran. Qum rugs are prized as being of the finest quality. Quite a bit of missing pile to the side edges of the rug, otherwise good condition.
