Six Country Chippendale Dining Chairs c.1800.

Delightful harlequin set of six early 19th.c. oak cottage dining chairs c.1800. The design of the backrest is a simplified vernacular version of the fashionable Chippendale chairs of the period with a shaped top rail and baluster silhouette back splat. Over board seats raised on square legs. Two of the chairs of very slightly different design from the other four (notice the ends of the cresting rails and position of the stretchers). Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
