Pair of Yew Wood Windsor Armchairs

Superb pair of large Windsor armchairs in yew wood. Fine quality reproductions, faithful copies of a Georgian hoop back Windsor design. Sloping backs with steamed top rails and back stretchers/arms with simple stick spindles, attractively shaped and pierced back splats and turned arm supports all in yew. Over generous shaped saddle seats (height 18") formed from thick elm boards. Raised on beautifully turned yew wood legs, splayed for stability and joined with curving 'crinoline' stretchers. Note the unusual shaped detail to the underside of the ends of the arms. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
