Arts & Crafts Hallstand by Gardner & Sons of Glasgow c.1910

Superb Arts & Crafts style oak hallstand by the great Glasgow makers and retailers A.Garnder & Sons c.1910. Striking design with strong Glasgow School or Mackintosh influence. Bevelled mirror over three large double hooks for hats and coats etc. Flanked on each side with shelves and a small cupboard over stick or umbrella stands with removable metal drip trays in the base. Arranged as a little niche with a moulded canopy top raised on turned front supports. Traditional acanthus carved panels either side of the mirror whilst the the three long moulded slats to the back, arranged in line with the hooks are very much a Glasgow school influence. The hooks are themselves of interesting design and each cast is with the registered design number RD669413. Maker’s lable for Gardners & Sons to the door of right hand cupboard. Excellent colour and condition, original throughout, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
