Small Empire Style Escritoire Side Cabinet c.1900

Beautiful little French Empire style escritoire side cabinet c.1900. Just 35½" wide. Open bookcase top with a raised gallery and two shelves over a folding leather top writing desk, with two drawers and a two door cupboard below. In ash with mahogany panels to the drawer fronts and doors and sparking birdseye maple veneered interior. Topped with unusual brass laurel wreath mounts and pierced galleries at the sides. Original brass handles, mounts and mouldings. Raised on short square tapering legs with lovely flared brass feet front and rear. Excellent colour and condition, fitted with a new leather, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied for the cupboard.
