Gilt Gesso Wall Mirror by Charles Nosotti c.1860

Late 19th.c. girandole wall mirror by Charles Nosotti of London c.1860. Original 17" x 22" oval mirror plate within an elaborate gesso frame with rope twist decoration. Candle sconce bellow the mirror, also modelled as rope tied in bows and with tassel ends and featuring the original pierced brass inserts. Original gilding, warn and rubbed through in places and with obvious distress and a few small missing portions of the gesso. Original gilded maker's label to the rear for C. Nosotti of 398 & 399 Oxford Street London.
