Welsh Miniature Chest or Coffor Bach c.1750.

Beautiful little 18th.c. Welsh oak miniature chest or coffor bach c.1750. Jointed oak lid with a thumb moulded edge and original wooden peg and notch hinges. Raised and fielded ogee arch top panel front with lovely original carved anthemion details. Single slim drawer in the base with brass knobs and a moulded edge to the drawer front. Chamfered edges to the front corners of the chest, raised on a moulded plith and shaped feet at the front and sides. Lined in Welsh language newsprint from Yr Herald Cymreag dated April 17th 1858. Solid oak sides and back board, elm drawer bottom. Missing the lock, otherwise excellent condition and particularly good colour and condition.
