Small Tulip & Rosewood Display Cabinet on Stand c.1880
Beautiful little late 19th.c. display cabinet on stand c.1880. Small bijouterie display with glazed doors and sides, fitted inside with two glass shelves (depth 7") and a lovely chequerboard parquetry floor, over four small drawers. On a side table stand with serpentine moulded edges, a shaped apron to the front and sides with a single drawer in the front and slim cabriole legs. Contrasting tulip and rosewood veneers across the piece with extensive and original ormolu mouldings and mounts and handles. Note the unusual feature of handles at the sides of the base and the Classical female heads to the mounts on the top of the legs front and rear. Much of the gilding is lost from the lower handles and mounts and there is small missing portion of one of the handles on the small drawers. Otherwise excellent colour and condition, restored cleaned and polished in our workshops. Key supplied.
