Small Mahogany Marble Top Commode c.1840.

Unusually small mid 19th.c. French marble top chest of drawers or commode c.1840. Just 38" wide. Original grey marble top with rounded corners over a chest of four long drawers. Particularly well figured mahogany veneers arranged in a striking symmetrical pattern across the front of the chest. Shallow top drawer with a shaped front continued on the sides of the cabinet, the three deeper drawers set within a moulded surround, each with original inlaid brass escutcheons. Sides veneered to match and raised on a moulded plinth. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied.
