Small Burr Walnut Commode c.1840

Smart little mid 19th.c. French burr walnut and marble top commode c.1840. Useful small size, just 30" wide. Original grey marble top over a chest of four drawers. Slimmer top drawer with a shaped front (continued on the cabinet sides) and brass handle in the form of a swan. Over three larger drawers with inlaid brass escutcheons, set within a moulded surround. Highly figured burr walnut veneers laid to create a symmetrical pattern across the front of the piece. Solid walnut sides to the cabinet Raised on a shallow plinth veneered to match, and slim pad feet. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied to work all three lower drawers.
