Set of Six Welsh Oak Cottage Dining Chairs c.1830

Good set of six small early 19th.c. Welsh cottage oak dining chairs c.1830. Five chairs plus a slightly larger carver armchair. Low backs with shaped top rails featuring the distinctive mahogany inlaid diamond and dot design typical of furniture produced in Talwrn on the Isle of Anglesey, over shaped stretchers also inlaid across the centre. Swept arms to the carver with scrolling terminals and turned supports. Board seats (height 18") on square legs joined with stretchers to all four sides. Note the pegged construction. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
