Set of Four Welsh Elm Cottage Dining Chairs c.1820

Lovely set of four early 19th.c. Welsh cottage dining chairs in elm c.1820. Low backs, tapering slightly toward the seat, with straight top rails, three slim reeded spindles and a back stretcher. Over single piece board seats (height 17") with moulded edges. Tapering square front legs and slightly curved rear stiles joined with stretchers to all four sides, the front ones set back for comfort. Very good colour and grain to the timber. Excellent condition.
