Sarcophagus Cellarette c.1830

Very handsome Regency era mahogany cellarette or wine cooler c.1830. Of Classical tapering sarcophagus form veneered in well figured flame mahogany and retaining the original large brass handles at the sides. Open the lid to reveal the original lead covered dividers inside to stand six large bottles (internal height 13"). Original working lock with inlaid brass escutcheon, original brass hinges. Raised on turned bun feet. Some minor wear and repairs to the veneers, generally excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied.
