Revolving Bookcase by Bibliotheque Terquem of Paris c.1910
Smart French mahogany revolving bookcase with some unusual features by Bibliotheque Terquem of Paris c.1910. Slimmer than many we see, with a 17½" square top with a moulded edge over three tiers of shelves of graduated height (width 10", depth 6") affording over 10 feet of shelf space for books etc. Hinged dividers at the back of each shelf can be moved out of the way so larger books can be accommodated. Moulded slats to the sides. Revolving on a cross base with original metal castors. Also with an unusual brass screw mechanism which can be tightened to stop the bookcase revolving if desired. Original maker's badge to the square column at the centre. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
