16th.c Style Carved & Painted Livery Cupboard
Remarkable 20th.c. copy of a 16th.c. carved and painted oak livery cupboard. Of tapering form, 39½" wide at the base, tapering to 36" at the top. Single door cupboards top and bottom, internal depth 14". Superb Renaissance style carving to both doors, featuring Classical motifs against painted and gilded ground. Flanked with linenfold panels and beautifully carved pilasters to the front stiles with very attractive painted detail. Further carved detail around the top and to the apron, with Tudor or flattened arches at the sides. Oak side panels and back panels. Steel strap hinges and brass locks stamped English made. Excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
