Pollard Oak Side Cabinet c.1880

Superb quality oak side cabinet or linen cupboard by Thomas Edwards & Sons of Staffordshire c.1880. Well figured pollard oak veneers arranged in a symmetrical pattern on the top, with deep ogee moulded edge. Over a two door cabinet fitted with three adjustable shelves inside. Doors with crisply carved acanthus leaf detail to the upper panels and book matched veneers to the lower panels, all with large dentil moulded surrounds. Flanked with slim carved and moulded pilasters and raised on a moulded plinth. Sides veneered to match. Polished mahogany lined interior with unusual slatted back. Original handles, locks and latches. enamel maker's badge inside the right hand door. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied.
