Pollard Oak Pedestal Cabinet c.1880
Superb quality late 19th.c. oak pedestal or bedside cabinet c.1880. Pollard oak veneered top with a moulded edge over a single door cabinet with a shelf inside (internal depth 12"). Highly decorative front, the door featuring a beautiful carved panel of scrolling acanthus leaves and a smaller panel above with pierced detail, both within large dentil moulded surrounds. Retaining the original copper strap hinges and door handle. Carved and moulded detail to the uprights either side of the door. Pollard oak veneered sides and raised on a moulded plinth. Polished mahogany interior. Maker's badge on the door for Thomas Edwards & Sons of Newcastle, Staffordshire. Excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
