Pair of Very Large Imari Vases with Stands c.1930

Very impressive pair of large Japanese Imari vases c.1930. Measuring 34" tall to the top of the lid, diameter 16". A true pair, hand painted with large exotic birds (facing left and right) surrounded by bands of decoration featuring traditional Oriental landscapes and leaf and blossom patterns. Painted in the blues, orange and gold typical of Imari ware. Both vases are complete with their lids, topped with large pointed and gilded finials, and wooden stands which raise the height by a further 8". Printed marks to the underside of both vases. With a good repair to the base of the finial on one of the lids. Otherwise excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
