Pair of 1969 Prince of Wales Investiture Chairs
A rare pair of the famous red chairs produced for the investiture ceremony of the Prince of Wales at Caernarfon castle on July 1st 1969. Striking mid-century modern design, in vermilion stained beech and bent plywood. The gilded three feathers motif is cleverly impressed onto the back rest to prevent wear to the gilding. Date stamp on the underside. Presented as found, with some minor wear to the paintwork and as is typical the foam in the seats has gone brittle. Otherwise very good original condition.
