Painted Mirror Back Cabinet with glazed Panels c.1900

Unusual painted mirror back side cabinet incorporating glazed tiles by the German stoneware factory Villeroy & Boch c.1900. Of unusual architectural form and just 36" wide. Featuring a tall bevelled mirror, two lockable cabinets and four small drawers plus open arched niches for display. Painted cream with gold detailing. Original and unusual majolica glazed ceramic panels to both doors featuring a drinking man and a maiden with a basket of fruit. Domed roof and pointed finial to the upper cabinet, carved and pierced frieze above the mirror and a remarkable winged beast to the right hand side of the mirror frame. Carved and moulded detail, turned columns and a deep plinth raised on turned and carved bun feet. Later overpainting, otherwise very good condition with original gilded lion's mask handles. Key supplied.
