Painted Cabinet with Glazed Panels c.1900

Unusual painted side cabinet incorporating glazed tiles by the German stoneware factory Villeroy & Boch c.1900. Of unusual architectural form and just 36" wide. A small cabinet and four drawers plus open arched niches for display. Painted cream with gold detailing. Original and unusual majolica glazed ceramic panels to the door and over the lower drawers, featuring winged cherubs in a sail boat and carrying game home from the hunt. Topped with a fan pediment and pierced fretwork gallery. Carved detail, turned columns and original gilded handles. Raised on turned and carved bun feet. Later overpainting, otherwise very good condition, key supplied.
