Oak Six Plank Coffer c.1650

Primitive mid 17th.c. oak six plank coffer c.1650. Very solid and sturdy, constructed from six thick oak boards held together with wooden pegs. Could be used as a little hall seat with storage. With simple moulded edges to the lid and chip carved detail to the ends of the front board. Original lock plate (missing the clasp from the lid), later hinges. Very simple shaped detail to form the feet. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
