Mahogany Sofa Table c.1830

Good quality Regency era mahogany sofa table by the c.1830. Mahogany veneered top with a broad satinwood inlaid border, ebony stringing and a crossbanded edge. On solid mahogany groundwork, with two folding leaves held on hinged loafers. One working drawer and one dummy drawer front on each side of the table. Solid mahogany drawer fronts with inlaid decoration, cockbeaded edges and original gilded brass knobs. Oak drawer linings. Raised on slim shaped supports with bands of parquetry inlay over swept legs with inlaid detail and brass claw feet and castors. With a joining stretcher between the legs raised high below the drawers making this table ideal for use as a writing desk. Some previous repairs to the top, otherwise excellent condition and particularly good mellow colour. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
