Mahogany Linen Press c.1830
Very handsome early 19th.c. mahogany linen press c.1820. Two door cupboard top fitted with four large sliding shelves on a separate base with two short and two long drawers of graduated height. Crossbanded and moulded cornice over a flame mahogany frieze continued on the sides. Door panels featuring beautiful flame mahogany veneers of particularly good colour and grain with a inlaid and crossbanded border, all laid onto solid mahogany groundwork. Brass door trim and inlaid bone escutcheons. Cockbeaded drawer fronts with the original turned knobs featuring an inlaid mother of pearl detail at the centre, also with matching escutcheons. Raised on the original large turned bun feet front and rear. Superior quality with solid mahogany sides and drawer linings. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
