Low 16th.c. Style Carved Oak Chest
Delightful little 16th.c. style carved oak six plank chest or box stool. Attributed to the celebrated 20th.c. makers G.T Rackstraw of Worcester. Excellent quality, pegged construction with solid oak boards. Sturdy enough to use as a hall or window seat. Over-hanging top with chip carved ends opening on long iron hinges. Decorative carved front with central chevron design flanked with a tri-corn leaf or flower head design often found on Rackstraw pieces. Shaped ends set at an angle for stability. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
