Louis XV Style Marquetry and Brass Mounted Vitrine c.1900

Superb quality French Louis XV style vitrine or display cabinet c.1900. Useful narrow dimensions, just 25" wide. Original marble top over a slim cabinet with glazed door and sides. Fitted inside with three plate glass shelves (depth 11½") and gold velvet lining to the rear. Symmetrically arranged kingwood veneers with extensive brass mounts and mouldings, note the unusual winged grotesques at the top corners. Bombe shaped base with a central cartouche to the door featuring a marquetry work scene of hounds hunting a stag. Against a marquetry ground of inlaid flowers within a diamond trellis which is continued on the cabinet sides. Shaped apron below the cabinet at the front and sides. Shaped legs with further brass mounts to the feet front and rear. Excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied.
