Long Iranian Carpet Runner c.1950
Vintage Persian tribal carpet runner from Iran c.1950. Unusual dimensions, just under 12 feet in length, the width is 52" at one end and just 47" at the other. Hand woven with a traditional design in dark red, blue and green wool. Featuring seven medallions in the centre decorated with flower motifs with plant forms in between. Surrounded with multiple borders with zig zag features representing water. Labelled Made in Iran on the rear. Some wear, most obvious at the edges of the carpet.
