Long French Cherry Wood Settle c.1860

Mid 19th.c. provincial French cherry wood settle c.1860. Just over six feet in length. Backrest featuring a broad top rail with shaped ends over four stiles joined with straight stretchers and attractively shaped boards above. Curved and tapering arms with scrolling terminals on moulded supports. Woven rush seat (height 16") with a shaped apron (repeated from the backrest) to the front edge. Four front legs with simple hoof shaped feet. Joined with straight stretchers across the front and to the rear stiles with turned stretchers, doubled at the sides. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
