Large William IV Mahogany Combination Wardrobe c.1835
Very impressive William IV mahogany combination wardrobe and linen press c.1835. Long hanging space behind the left and right hand doors (internal depth 20½"), with full length dressing mirrors inside both doors and separate compartment with hinged lids in the base. At the centre is a two door cupboard fitted with three sliding shelves (could be removed to create more hanging space if preferred), over a chest of three drawers of graduated height. Restrained Classical design with triangular pediments and crisp carved detail to the tops of the long doors. Otherwise free of applied decoration emphasising the fabulous grain of the matched and symmetrically arranged veneers across the front and sides of the piece. Original turned drawer knobs, hinges, locks and latches etc. Mahogany linings to the slides and drawers. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied.
Splits into four pieces plus plinth and cornice for delivery.
