Large Carved Walnut Spoonback Armchair c.1860

Splendid mid 19th.c. carved walnut spoon back armchair c.1860. Superb example of the form, good large size and beautiful sinuous shaped frame with crisply carved floral and acanthus detail. Buttoned backrest and long arms with upholstered pads over a large sprung seat. Recently upholstered in a woven pink damask fabric, continued on the rear. Carved and moulded front legs and apron. Raised on white ceramic castors by Collinson & Cope. Excellent condition with clean covers.
