Large Carved Oak Overmantle Mirror c.1890

Impressively large late 19th.c. carved oak overmatle mirror c.1890. Original 53" x 62½" mirror plate in a 17th.c. style Renaissance revival carved oak frame. Flattened arch top below a moulded cornice and flanked with carved lion masks. Square column pilasters carved in high relief with flowers, leaves and fruit. Flat moulded bottom edge with carved and moulded detail. To sit over a fireplace or large piece of furniture. Could also be stood of the floor to make a large dressing mirror. Some shading to the mirror (could be replaced if preferred), otherwise very good condition with the original back panel.
