Large Burr Walnut Chest of Drawers c.1880

Splendid large burr walnut chest of drawers c.1880. Walnut veneered top with a crossbanded edge and rounded front corners. Over two short and three long drawers of graduated height. The very large bottom drawer extending into the plinth allowing an internal height of 14". Highly figured burr walnut veneers arranged in a symmetrical pattern across the drawer fronts, with large glass handles and original brass escutcheons. Moulded front corners and plinth, also veneered to match. Raised on low bun feet. Mahogany drawer linings and note also the little brass barrel castors below the bottom drawer. Minor wear and repairs to the veneers, generally very good colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
