Large Arts & Crafts Sideboard c.1890

Very impressive late 19th.c. Arts & Crafts mahogany sideboard dresser c.1890. Canopy top with shelves and small glazed cabinets either side of an arch top mirror. The base with two large drawers over two cupboards flanking a central drawer and an open display shelf. Arts & Crafts style leaded lights to the upper cabinets with a spade shaped seed head motif repeated in the design of the superb brass strap hinges on the doors. Also retaining the original and unusual large brass drawer handles. Note how the shape of the cornice is repeated on the drawer fronts, with renaissance revival acanthus and grotesque mask carvings also featured on the cupboard door fronts. Shaped plinth raised on turned bun feet with brass collars. Solid mahogany sides and drawer linings. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Keys supplied.
