High Back Kitchen Armchair c.1890

Classic late 19th.c. farmhouse kitchen armchair c.1890. High backrest with a curved crest rail on long slats nicely shaped to accommodate the sitter. Shaped arms on turned spindle supports, all in beech. Seat made from a single elm board of particularly good grain (width of seat between the arm supports 13½") . Raised on turned legs, splayed for stability and joined with an H stretcher. Bit of a twist to the backrest, otherwise excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
