Georgian Serpentine Front Mahogany Chest of Drawers c.1780
George III mahogany serpentine front chest of drawers c.1780. Solid mahogany top with serpentine shaped and thumb moulded edges. Over four long drawers of graduated height with well figured shaped and cockbeaded drawer fronts with original heavy brass swan neck handles. Original fitted interior to the top drawer, divided into small compartments and with a small sliding drawer at the centre. Projecting front corners to the cabinet with a carved detail. Ogee base moulding and raised on the original sturdy shaped bracket feet front and rear. Solid mahogany sides and drawer linings. Some earlier repairs and restorations, otherwise very good colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
