Georgian Mahogany Concertina Supper Table c.1760

George II mahogany fold over supper table with a concertina action c.1760. Stands flat against the wall as an elegant console table or open the mechanism and fold open the top to make a table for four people. The concertina mechanism has the advantage of forming a crossbanded apron to each side of the table when open. Note the original sliding oak board with pierced hand grip to lock the mechanism. Raised on tapering legs with carved shoulders and feet. Solid mahogany leaves and oak groundwork to the apron. Minor repairs to the veneers on the apron. Generally very good colour and condition. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
