Set of Four Sussex Cottage Dining Chairs c.1820

Charming set of four small cottage dining chairs in ash c.1820. Single piece board seats (height 17") of pronounced grain, also with turned side rails and a cupid's-bow shaped apron to the front. Turned front legs and stretchers with extra turned detail to the front stretcher and the feet. Branded with the initials GM on the underside of each seat, presumed to be a maker's mark.
