Brass Mounted Mahogany Bureau Plat c.1930

Very smart brass mounted mahogany bureau plat or writing desk c.1930. 57" x 31½" top with a green baize work surface with a patterned edge. Plus two sliding leaves (width 15") drawing out from the sides, also with baize tops. Over four drawers (the right hand side is double height with a removable tray and lockable inner box) arranged around the kneehole (height 23½"), raised on turned and fluted tapering legs. Extensive brass mouldings to the edges and drawer fronts and inlaid fluting to the corners and legs. Polished and brass mounted to match on the rear of the desk. Superior quality with oak drawer linings. Minor wear to the timber on the top, generally excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied.
