Art Nouveau Inlaid Revolving Bookcase by Shapland & Petter c.1910
Unusual mahogany revolving bookcase attributed to the celebrated cabinet makers Shapland & Petter of Barnstaple c.1910. Raised top on short square pillars with lovely Art Nouveau inlaid detail within a parquetry border and moulded edge. Bookcase with two rows of shelves (depth 6", height 9"/11") affording over seven feet of shelf space. Slatted sides and slim turned and shaped spindles on the inner dividers. Revolving on a crossed foot with original metal castors. Stamped with the serial number R1571 inside. Some minor wear and repairs to the inlays on the top. Otherwise good colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
