Anglo Indian Carved Rosewood Console Table c.1860

Spectacular Anglo Indian console table in Indian rosewood c.1860. Raised gallery along the back edge beautifully carved and pierced with scrolling acanthus foliage. Over the well figured single piece table top with bands of carved moulding to the front and sides and a shallow caved apron across the front. Raised on a splendid pair of crisply carved and moulded S-shaped supports. Enclosed sides and rear with densely carved and pierced foliate panels with symmetrically arranged decoration. Further carving to the surrounding frame. On a concave plinth with a gadrooned top edge over bands of carving all continued on the sides. Raised on turned and carved bun feet front and rear. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
