Art Nouveau Washstand c.1900

Beautiful Art Nouveau marble top washstand or side cabinet c.1900. Original marble top with a shaped and moulded front edge (the sides appear to have been cut down at a later time). Over two small drawers, flanking a central dummy drawer front, and a two door cupboard with a single shelf inside (depth 18"). Highly decorative front with maple panels inlaid with a detail of blackberry plants, within a walnut frame shaped, carved and moulded with organic inspired detail in the manner of Hector Guimard and other great designers of the Art Nouveau movement. Note also the original Art Nouveau pattern brass handles. With a deep moulded apron below the doors and raised on turned feet. Oak panelled sides and back, solid oak shelf and floor. Excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
