Small Marble Top Console Table c.1860

Smart little mid 19th.c. French mahogany and marble top console table c.1860. Just 29" wide. Original and well figured grey marble top with a reeded edge over a single drawer. Mahogany veneered drawer front, with a large Empire style brass escutcheon. Mahogany veneered sides with reeded mouldings below. Raised on curving and reeded front supports, with scroll moulding to both sides sides and a carved papyrus detail above. Square column pilasters at the rear. Open plinth base with raised sides and back edge and projecting front corners. Raised on square pad feet front and rear. Oak groundwork and drawer linings. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
